A Luxury Alternative to Wine & Design: Introducing Create and Unwind

A Luxury Alternative to Wine & Design: Introducing Create and Unwind

There’s something magical about painting without pressure. No noise. No chaos. No wine glasses clinking or people yelling across a crowded room. Just a brush in your hand, beautiful color in front of you, and the space to create something that’s truly yours.

That’s why I created Create and Unwind—a luxury, alcohol-free art experience unlike anything else.

Why I Created This Experience

Believe it or not, I’ve never even been to a traditional paint-and-sip class. I didn’t want to replicate what already existed. I wanted something more personal, more peaceful, and more focused on real painting techniques—the kind that let you leave not just with a canvas, but with a deeper love for art itself.

It wasn’t until I opened our first physical gallery that I realized just how different Create and Unwind was from the franchise-style painting studios people are used to. And honestly—I’m glad I built this from my own vision. The result is a calm, curated, and luxurious experience where guests can paint, relax, and reconnect with their creativity.

What Makes It Luxurious

Every detail is intentional.

Seasonal scents fill the air (think green tea verbena or soft lavender)

Curated playlists (vinyl and digital) play in the background

Mocktails, sparkling waters, and seasonal beverages are served with light snacks

Elegant, silky smocks are provided for all guests

Professional-grade paintbrushes and materials are standard

We’ve also designed the space to be flexible and beautiful—guests can bring in their own food, enjoy private catering setups, and even book the space for groups of 12 to 24 through AmenaArt.com.

The Ideal Guest for Create and Unwind

Our ideal guest is someone looking for a quiet, creative, and meaningful experience. This is perfect for:

Mother-daughter dates

Solo relaxation time

Small friend groups

Couples

Out-of-town visitors

Family experiences

Wellness retreats

Private gatherings

Unlike other studios, each guest can choose their own painting and work at their own pace. There’s no group pressure to keep up. Each month or season, we rotate our available painting options to encourage return visits and new discoveries.

How It Works

Choose your canvas size—popular choices include 8x10 and 8x8

Select your painting from our seasonal guidebooks

Use our printed tutorial sheets or follow along with our video walkthroughs

Paint with our custom primary color capsules, learning to mix your own colors

Relax as our assistants provide guidance only when needed—never hovering

For those short on time, we offer pre-painted backgrounds to help speed up the process. All materials are provided—including smocks, brushes, paint, and take-home capsules of your custom colors.

You’re welcome to walk in on most open days, or book a spot ahead of time through our website.

Why People Love It

Our guests consistently tell us how much they enjoy the calm, the space, and the quality. Many are surprised to find how easy and fulfilling painting can be with the right tools and support.

Some of our favorite sessions include couples laughing over color mixing, parents sharing stories while painting with their kids, and solo guests who come in for one hour and end up staying for two.

You can even see their smiling faces on our pinboard in the gallery, near the painting area—memories we’re proud to display.

What You’ll Leave With

When you leave Create and Unwind, you’ll take home more than just a canvas. You’ll walk away with:

A beautiful, finished (or in-progress) piece of art

A basic understanding of painting and color theory

A relaxing, memorable experience to cherish

A new appreciation for your own creative voice

This is art for the soul.

Not loud. Not rushed.

Just pure, creative freedom in a beautiful setting.
